Have You Heard About This?

I came across this video on my favorite sports blog and couldn't/didn't want to believe it.

If this is actually what happened at the game, I certainly think something is up. The comments on the different sports blogs are comparing this to the Patriots filming. I'm not ready to go that far, but I would like to know what's up. There are several reasons why I don't believe the colts would do this and several reasons why I think the video doesn't make sense (like if the colts were going to cheat in this manner, why would they use a cd? Hard drive players, such as an ipod, would make much more sense and be much more discreet and reliable.).

One thing I am tired of is comparing this to Belichick taping his opponents signals. Even a non-colts fan could see this difference between making it hard to communicate and having a record of your opponent's playbook and signals. Plus, I doubt very much this was initiated by Dungy, whereas Belichick seemed to be the sole mastermind behind the videotaping.

Also, the other minor accusation going around about the radio jamming just doesn't make any sense. Get better equipment.

But, if the Colts are guilty of this, they need to be punished. And Colts fans everywhere should be ashamed we can't make enough noise on our own. And the Colts need to score a touchdown when they are on the five yard line.

Thus saith the Lord.

i think i do remember hearing that. i don't know, though. i have a hard time paying attention to the game when tom brady and his chiseled good-looks are on the field.

...those eyes...and that dimpled chin...what?

oh. uh, go colts.

I like our other "Thus saith the Lord" conversation. It made me feel a few ounches better.

Here's what you should be ashamed about:

Despite obvious calls in your favor, and the Pats playing terrible for 3 quarters, you still couldn't win the game AT HOME.

Now before you try to defend the officiating let me ask you a question. How would you feel if Randy Moss tackled Bob Sanders while Sanders was trying to make an interception, and Sanders got called for interference? Does that sound similar to a call in the game? Hmmmm.

Here's what I would like to see in January: a healthy Colts team versus a Pats team, without the officials trying to help even out the game.

Hm...Okay, I'll give you that there were some bad calls. But only four of their penalties were pass interference (or similar) calls. What about the other six? Did the officials make that illegal man go downfield? And besides, they still scored on that drive Moss was called for offensive pass interference AND they missed several obvious calls against the pats. So a make up call here or there isn't that bad. Besides, you really want to complain about the refereeing in a colts/pats game when just three years ago the colts were mugged so badly, the commish clarified the rules after the game so it wouldn't happen again?

But what I'm really sick and tired about is that people say "the pats played terrible" as if that had nothing to do with the colts. Like before they went on the field that patriots decided they were going to play bad and it wasn't a result of the colts no. 1 pass defense (at the time, they have since slipped to third best in the league). People are just used to seeing the patriots play Jr. High practice sqauads in their conference (Dolphins, Jets, and Bills) and not the quality teams the colts play year in and out (jags, titans and this year a much improved houston). The colts MADE the patriots play bad. The pats just have a good enough team to push through and wear them down (i.e. the 4th quarter). You can't stop Moss forever, you can only hope to contain him.

The officials didn't have a speck to do with the outcome of the game. We lost fair and square. But we'll get them next time.

As long as Brady keeps his helmet on and doesn't distract our players with his good looks...man that guy is good looking...
